This is a wonderful tour! Gustavo’s knowledge on the political and social history of Mexico and Mexico City is unmatched, and we got to see parts of the city off the beaten path. A great tour to start your trip and learn a few things in the process.

Exceptional tour. Be prepared to walk a lot and view many unique, non-tourist areas of the city. Our guide was deeply knowledgable about history and politics as well as current challenges with the informal económico and water supply

This was the best tour of my 2-week visit to Mexico City. I couldn’t get to our planned meet-up location because of a protest that closed the Zocalo plaza, but Gustavo didn’t miss a beat and found me quickly. The protest and the government’s reaction to it was the perfect launch into Gustavo’s narrative that included important historic events from 100 years ago to the present. The tour is really well organized with stops in shady spots to study informative materials and diagrams that help you understand the complexities of the social and political stories while standing in the exact locations of important historical events. The tour through the Sonora and Merced markets and the Merced neighborhood was a huge bonus and one of the highlights because you get to see the incredibly interesting fusion of west African religions and a modern new religious practice with Catholicism. This tour takes you through the real heart of the Centro, hidden in plain sight if you know where to look!
