I always like to learn about local LGBT+ history on my travels and I'm very glad I booked this tour with Mary. It was extremely interesting and overall a great experience! It was very insightful; Mary talked about individual activists and the broader queer movement(s) and its connection with other events up to the very recent past. It was quite emotional, too, both sobering and inspiring. Besides being an excellent, knowledgeable storyteller, Mary was obviously passionate about the topic. She was also super nice and friendly and I enjoyed talking to her a lot! She answered all my questions and even gave me a bar recommendation. I definitely recommend the experience!
Such an excellent tour. Mary shares poignant pieces of Athens LGBTQ history that you won’t read about anywhere else, while walking through the city and visiting some of the sites involved. This tour paints such a strong image of LGBTQ life in Greece, struggles past and present, and the work that is left to be done. You will leave with many emotions, and many things to think about and discuss. A great experience.

I recently went on the LGBT historical walk in Athens and it was an incredible experience. Our tour guide, Mary, was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing the rich LGBT history of Athens with us. The tour took us through some of the most important sites in Athens that related to LGBT community. Throughout the tour, our guide was able to provide insight into the social and political struggles faced by the LGBT community in Greece, including the recent legalization of same-sex civil unions and the ongoing fight for full marriage equality. Overall, this tour was a unique and educational journey through Athens' rich LGBT history and culture. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the history and struggles of the LGBT community in Greece.
