Gustavo did a tremendous job as our tour guide, providing us great insights and context regarding Mexico's historical, political, economic and sociological evolution. He masterfully tied together the many strands into a compelling narrative. I highly recommend this tour.

Great tour
My friend and I recommend this tour to everyone who comes to Mexico City and wants to learn more about its social and economic world. Prior to the tour, there was so much that we did not know about the city and its history, and it’s hard to know what you don’t know, which is exactly why a tour like this was so great!
In January 2026, my friend and I took this tour with Gustavo who met us promptly at the scheduled time in the Centro and he even had bottles of water for us. We visited so many places in the Centro and surrounding areas that are not as well known. A Metro trip was included too.
Gustavo was an incredible tour guide. He shared a ton about the current economic, social, and environmental issues that Mexico City and its surrounding area are facing and gave us a great historical background for context. Even the small observations that he would offer, like about the different cars on the metro, were very interesting. He answered our many questions and we had plenty of breaks to sit down and use restrooms. He was so warm and did a great job of sharing multiple political perspectives. I would request him by name if you can, because we had the best time with him!
We like to go beyond the typical tourist experience when we travel and learn more about reality for the people who live there. Our guide, Gustavo, did that with discussions about political history, government repression in modern times, and current social issues. We got to see the Centro Historico from a different perspective. He was great about answering even the most random questions and gave us an excellent recommendation for lunch—and for an exhibit featuring a printmaker from the Taller de Grafico Popular which exactly suited our interests.
