We will see places like the one that back in 80s trans women used to work as sex workers. You will get to know unpublished stories about the past while walking down the main avenue of Athens where the most important protests of the movement happened. We are going to follow the route of Athens Pride march and go to the place where the offices of the first Gay Organization and magazine were located back in 70s. Mary was very welcoming and easy to be with - and so informed about LGBT history across Athens. It was a really lovely afternoon learning more about evolving political situation in Greece and the liberation of LGBT communities - as well as some of the continuing struggles. Really nice to connect with local LGBT community -
and an important accompaniment to just heading to the local LGBT bar! Thanks Mary - a really interesting and informative time!!

This tour was AMAZING. Mary is a library of information on the LGBTQ history and movement in Greece, and a great storyteller and activist. We saw and learned so much we never would have without her, and it was easily one of the highlights of our time here. Highly recommended to any and all!

This is a great introduction to LGBTQI issues in Greece, both past and current, from a knowledgeable activist. Mary will give you the backstory on a number of issues as well as an outlook on what’s currently going on on the scene. Brace yourselves because it’s not just sparkles and rainbows but contains some heavy stuff, but Mary will give you some hope at the end as well :)
