In the Feminist Walk of Athens you will get to know from a feminist activist, all the important events that took place about women’s rights from ancient Athens to today in a historical line. Why Aspasia was the most influential woman of Athens in 500 B.C., what were women “allowed to do” in the past and what not, which was the first feminist press, when did the feminist movement start in Greece, which laws are applied today in Greece about gender equality and which are the femicides that shaped the current demands of the feminist movement in Greece.

The political and social history was very interesting and well presented. It was eye-opening to understand where Greece stands as it relates to women’s rights and gender culture. Thank you, Mary!

This was a fascinating walk learning about Greece, past and present from someone closely connected to the work. It put the other things I have learned elsewhre while in Greece into greater context. I highly recommend this all to any and everyone curious and open to learning.
