Beyond the tea shops and the gem salesmen, this experience takes you into the heart of Sri Lankan society - helping visitors understand what really makes the island tick and what has driven the political crises of recent years.

With the terrible weather, we had to move to Plan B, so it was less of a walk. Nevertheless, Chami, our guide, did her best to keep our group engaged. She's refreshingly frank about her country's challenges and needed accountability to move forward, but she delivered her perspective with patriotic optimism. This is an unusual thought-provoking experience.

Chami is such a fantastic guide. Passionate about her country but honest about it's challenges. We spent hours talking politics, economics, and social issues. This tour is perfect for anyone who actually wants to UNDERSTAND the place they're visiting.
