    Great tour

My friend and I recommend this tour to everyone who comes to Mexico City and wants to learn more about its social and economic world. Prior to the tour, there was so much that we did not know about the city and its history, and it’s hard to know what you don’t know, which is exactly why a tour like this was so great! In January 2026, my friend and I took this tour with Gustavo who met us promptly at the scheduled time in the Centro and he even had bottles of water for us. We visited so many places in the Centro and surrounding areas that are not as well known. A Metro trip was included too.Gustavo was an incredible tour guide. He shared a ton about the current economic, social, and environmental issues that Mexico City and its surrounding area are facing and gave us a great historical background for context. Even the small observations that he would offer, like about the different cars on the metro, were very interesting. He answered our many questions and we had plenty of breaks to sit down and use restrooms. He was so warm and did a great job of sharing multiple political perspectives. I would request him by name if you can, because we had the best time with him!

We had an excellent experience on the Colombo Social and Political Walk with Chami. She has a deep knowledge of Sri Lanka’s social and political landscape. She didn’t just show us the sights - she helped us understand the history, context, and complexities that have shaped the country. Her insights were thoughtful and nuanced, and she was happy to answer all our questions. We came away with a much richer understanding of the country. If you’re looking for more than just a typical tourist experience and want to really engage with the city’s past and present, this tour is absolutely worth your time. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to others!

We had a very insightful and interesting time with Chami. It was really good to be given an economic, social and political background to Sri Lanka rather than focussing on cultural highlights. She is obviously, rightly, very proud of her country and as with all countries she is aware of its faults but also what makes Sri Lanka unique within Asia. Chami really engaged with all our questions - however idiotic some of them probably were. The time with her flew by and we could have easily gone on chatting for a few more hours. We love a city tour but this was so much more than an historic delve into the past. We highly recommend it!

We like to go beyond the typical tourist experience when we travel and learn more about reality for the people who live there. Our guide, Gustavo, did that with discussions about political history, government repression in modern times, and current social issues. We got to see the Centro Historico from a different perspective. He was great about answering even the most random questions and gave us an excellent recommendation for lunch—and for an exhibit featuring a printmaker from the Taller de Grafico Popular which exactly suited our interests.
