How did the ‘cradle of democracy’ become the ‘basket case of Europe’? The question may be crude and offensive, but it captures the essence of much thinking around the globe in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. This interactive storytelling walk is meant to have the flow and information-heavy experience of a documentary.
It takes us into a comprehensive analysis, providing surprising answers. It highlights the social and political elements of Greece, from the creation of the Greek state to modern times. Really interesting discussion of current politics in Greece. Much of the tourism industry portrays Ancient Greece and basically glances over more recent history. So this tour added a layer of understanding I would not have gotten otherwise. Isaac has a fascinating way of connecting events that makes the political landscape fascinating. If you like understanding the places you travel to deeper than surface level, you’ll appreciate this tour.

Super interesting experience, absolutely recommended if you want to better understand Greece, its politics and history. Isaac is an amazing narrator and he was very careful to select spots with shadow where people can sit and rest while listening.

This tour is fantastic- Issac is really knowledgeable and also has a great wit. He wove the many interconnected stories of Greeces mostly modern history together in a way the was easy to absorb with terrific storytelling. Loved this- was a highlight for me and my college bound son. Really special- wish all the big cities we visit had something like this.
