How did the ‘cradle of democracy’ become the ‘basket case of Europe’? The question may be crude and offensive, but it captures the essence of much thinking around the globe in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. This interactive storytelling walk is meant to have the flow and information-heavy experience of a documentary.
It takes us into a comprehensive analysis, providing surprising answers. It highlights the social and political elements of Greece, from the creation of the Greek state to modern times. We’ll address both historical and current events from a balanced & non-biased point of view to help you determine your views of this land for yourself.
The experience is aimed at people with a genuine interest in politics and those keen to learn more about the situation in Greece by conducting some first-hand research.
-The duration of this experience is between 2h30mins and 3h30mins depending on Q&A.

Great experience! I learned a lot (and it was fun). Isaac is brilliant in explaining politics, history and society without judging or taking sides. He differentiates and describes things as they are: oftentimes ambiguous, complex and volatile. Yet, he gives a great overview over complex issues, and it is easy to follow his stories.

If you enjoy exploring unique perspectives and are interested in social and political issues, this tour is a must! Isaac is incredibly knowledgeable, and although I've kept up with the broader trends in Greek politics over the years, I gained many new insights during our time together. Those three hours flew by in the blink of an eye. It's a pity that Isaac isn't offering the refugee tour during my stay in Athens—I would have loved to join that one too!
It’s rare that someone appreciates nuance and complexity in socio politics, and even more rare on a tour! Isaac is dynamic, smart and explains his theories and observations very well - I literally walked into a trash can since I was so engrossed in listening! Great context for understanding contemporary Athens; I could have extended the conversation for hours and would have loved to do some of the other tours in Athens and elsewhere. Very highly recommended.
