This is an outstanding synopsis of the current and ongoing refugee crisis. It is a nuanced problem for strategic Greece. Isaac explains this with great sensitivity, incredible insight and a clear understanding of all the issues. It’s a juxtaposition of the extreme privilege of being a tourist and the seedy underbelly that few tourists likely seek out. Of the hundreds of tours I have taken, this was a life changing lesson on my privilege to be a voyeur to this world. If you do one thing in Athens, it must be this tour. Sensitive, thought provoking and deeply resonated with my core.
This was a great tour of the recent history of immigration in Athens. Good for teens to, my boys learned a lot. Also you will be in a group of people who have a common interest so they group dialogue enriched our experience. Every city has its immigration issues, good to learn about Athens!

We had a fantastic time with Isaac on his refugee crisis tour even though it was a heavy subject to discuss. He taught us a lot about the evolution of certain neighborhoods, the different immigrant populations over years and the layers of complexity of it all. We appreciated how he made comparisons with other European policies and politicians to give us a better understanding of what is happening in Greece. Overall, Isaac is a kind and funny guy that we enjoyed chatting with and he gave great suggestions for food afterwards. This was a highlight of our trip to Athens!
Such an interesting tour. Isaac is very knowledgeable about the refugee issue and explains it in an understandable way. We had a large group of 10 ranging in ages from 12 to 60. Everyone thought it was one of the best tours of our trip! I would highly recommend.

Imagine a 3 hour documentary but instead of watching it on the screen, you’re following the narrator around the city, experiencing the scenes in first person with an opportunity to ask questions and foster conversation among a diverse group of people. This is what you’ll get with this tour and it is excellent! If you are even the slightest bit interested in politics and/or economics, (not just in Greece but globally) you will love this tour. Isaac explains in thoughtful detail the history of modern Greece and the stories and sights will astound you.
