This was the best tour of my 2-week visit to Mexico City. I couldn’t get to our planned meet-up location because of a protest that closed the Zocalo plaza, but Gustavo didn’t miss a beat and found me quickly. The protest and the government’s reaction to it was the perfect launch into Gustavo’s narrative that included important historic events from 100 years ago to the present. The tour is really well organized with stops in shady spots to study informative materials and diagrams that help you understand the complexities of the social and political stories while standing in the exact locations of important historical events. The tour through the Sonora and Merced markets and the Merced neighborhood was a huge bonus and one of the highlights because you get to see the incredibly interesting fusion of west African religions and a modern new religious practice with Catholicism. This tour takes you through the real heart of the Centro, hidden in plain sight if you know where to look!

Very interesting overview of SL current economic and social conditions and the background that gave rise to them. We were the only two on the walk so were able to ask lots of questions and discuss. We started at the end of the Fort and finished at the BMICH (with a taxi transport in between). Chami was extremely knowledgeable and a good listener. A pleasure to spend time in her company

Edson greatly enriched our stay in La Paz. The tour was very well structured and we learned many interesting things about La Paz and Bolivia. We can highly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to quickly gain an insight into the politics, life and most important places in La Paz.

Excellent tour

My wife and I loved the walking tour. Gustavo was a great guide and full of knowledge. We left with a much better sense of Mexico's complex political and social history. Would recommend this tour to anyone!
