Bolivia is the only country in the world where the popular hamburger chain, Mcdonald’s, one of the symbols of globalization and capitalism, has gone bankrupt. After little more than 5 years of operations, its eight restaurants in the country had to close their doors because, simply, the Bolivians didn’t care.
We can almost say that for many today Bolivia is something like the village of Asterix and Obelix, a corner of the world that resists against all odds what these same people call the “cultural imperialism” of globalization and the great Western powers.
But how is Bolivia really doing? These are some of the questions we’re going to answer in this experience.
This interactive storytelling walk is meant to have the flow and information-heavy experience of a documentary. It takes us into a comprehensive analysis, providing surprising answers.
It highlights the social and political elements of Bolivia, from the creation of the Bolivian state to modern times. We’ll address both historical and current events from a balanced & non-biased point of view to help you determine your views of this land for yourself.
The experience is aimed at people with a genuine interest in politics and those keen to learn more about the situation in Bolivia by conducting some first-hand research.
