On a personal level, he also was gracious, engaging, highly personable, and just a great guy to spend 2.5 hours with. You come away from this tour, not only with information about Sri Lanka’s social and political history, but also a deeper understanding of geopolitics, power, resistance and ideas for a better future.

This was a very unique tour and experience. Our guide, Gustavo, was a wonderful guide. He was communicative regarding plans, reached out to confirm beforehand, and met us on time at the determined location with prepared materials and ready to go. He was friendly, knowledgeable, charming, and had an obvious passion for the city of Mexico. We were worried this tour might “sanitize” the history to appear more palatable to tourists, but the information presented kept it real and encouraged independent thought on important social issues. We were in Mexico City for 8 days and this was easily one of our favorite experiences for the whole trip. The tour was much more thorough then we expected and included a glimpse into everyday life and culture that tourists wouldn’t normally wander into on their own. This was such a cool experience that we plan to look for similar tours everywhere we go now, we didn’t even know this was a thing.

Edson walked us through key moments in Bolivian history and helped us understand the country’s political and cultural context in a way that was easy to follow and enriching. It gave La Paz more depth than just sightseeing. Thank you!
