Great Experience! Would recommend. Our host Alex picked us up from the airport and immediately commenced his commentary regarding Manilla and its history, people, and neighbourhood profiles both past and present. Alex was knowledgeable - as a European expat living in Manila he could answer many questions as to his personal experience living and working in Manila - living the dream tropical lifestyle.

Top tour, highly recommend for those that want to see another side of Athens and to understand part of its modern history and what created it!

This is one of the best experiences/ tours that I have ever done. Isaac is a wealth of knowledge on Greece’s complex political and social dynamics, both contemporary and historical, and weaves it all together in a fascinating way to really lift the lid on what makes Greece what it is today, demystifying its apparent contradictions with insightful explanations and perspectives. I really like how he tried to draw comparisons to the socio-political contexts other countries that the visitor may be familiar with – in my example, India and the UK – and also have dived in as deep as one wanted into specific topics. It really helped peel the onion for me and gave me a completely different perspective of the country, which I was visiting for the first time (though I can see how it could be equally eye-opening for someone who has visited before or even lives there). I also really appreciated that although I happened to be the only person booked on the particular tour (and which I could unfortunately not do much about because of my overall itinerary), Isaac was still happy to go ahead with the tour and did so with the same gusto and energy which I presume he would have with a larger group. Thank you Isaac for a great experience!

It was a great, personal walk, I have learned a lot about the political and social sides of Athens. Really enjoyed it. If you are not the ordinary tourist and, if you are open to hear about the real life, i can fully recommend it. Isaac seems to know everything about modern Greece, and even about you're own country.

I booked this experience as a private tour after going on the Athens Social and Political Walk with Isaac (which I would highly recommend as well). It was illuminating to see parts of Athens that have housed generations of immigrants, and how they came to be inhabited by different ethnic groups over time. The neighborhoods we visited were much safer than some of the anarchist areas on the Social and Political walk, so there is no need to be wary. Isaac illustrated the human side of the refugee crisis, and I appreciated his sensitivity while doing so. I will read and watch stories of refugees in Europe with a more nuanced perspective because of this insightful and engaging tour.
